Prof. Yue Chee Yoon

Prof. Yue Chee Yoon
Professor Yue oversees all the Masters and PhD degree programmes, including the strategic joint graduate programmes in Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Singapore. He has been co-Chair of the Singapore-MIT Alliance (SMA) programme in Manufacturing Systems and Technology since 1999. Through SMA, he developed close research collaborations with professors at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA.

He held previous appointments as Dean of the Interdisciplinary Graduate School, Director of the Institute for Sports Research, Chair of the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Assistant Director of Research (1997-1999) and Coordinator of NTU’s Cambridge University Engineering Department / Imperial College Research Collaboration Programme (1997-1999). He was a Board Member of the Temasek Polytechnic, Singapore from 1996 to 2002, and a Director of the Singapore Institute of Manufacturing Technology (SIMTech) from 2001 to 2010.

Prof Yue was awarded the Singapore Public Administration Medal (Silver) in 2002. Prof Yue obtained his Bachelor’s degree in materials engineering in 1979 and PhD in 1983 from Monash University, Australia. He completed an Executive Programme in Tsinghua University, China in 2003. He is Fellow of the Academy of Engineering Singapore and Fellow of the Institution of Engineers, Singapore.
