Dr Diane Sloan

Dr Diane Sloan joined Newcastle Business School in 1986 and has undertaken a variety of roles across the school. Diane’s current role is Director of Learning and Teaching Enhancement, responsible for coordinating across the Business and Law Faculty and the enhancement agenda.

Dr Sloan’s research on supporting the integration and learning skills of international students has attracted internal and external funding, with the findings delivered at national and international conferences, and workshops for universities. The work is now published nationally and internationally and informs key note speeches and consultancy at leading UK Universities.

As a result of her work and reputation in this area she was awarded the role of Teaching Fellow, the first in the history of the Business School. At a national level she is a convenor for the HEA national Internationalising the Curriculum SIG and sits as a member of the ABS Learning and Teaching advisory committee.
