Professor Ronald Chung Chi-Kit

Professor Ronald Chung Chi-Kit
Professor Ronald Chung is a seasoned academic and administrator. He received his first degree from the University of Hong Kong, and then pursued postgraduate studies in the United States. He obtained his doctorate degree from University of Southern California.



Professor Chung has years of service to the education sector. Prior to joining VTC, Professor Chung was the Department Chairman of Mechanical and Automation Engineering of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK).

In the years 2009-2011, he was the Associate Dean of the Faculty of Engineering of CUHK. He received the Exemplary Teaching Award from the Faculty in 2005.
 
Professor Chung has also served other sectors in a number of capacities, including the chairmanship of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Hong Kong Section Joint Chapter of Robotics, Automation and Control Systems Society in the years 2001-2003.

He has been for years the Guest Professor of a number of universities including the Shanghai Jiaotong University of China. He began to be the Adjunct Professor of the Chinese University of Hong Kong in March 2013.

 
Professor Chung is a Chartered Engineer of the United Kingdom, Fellow of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers, and Fellow of British Computer Society.

He has over 100 publications to his credit. He is the Principal Inventor of the patent "Imaging System for Three-Dimensional Reconstruction of Surface Profiles" filed to the USA. He took up the role of Deputy Executive Director at VTC in January 2013.
