Janet Morrison

Janet Morrison became Chief Executive of Independent Age in March 2007. At the end of last year Independent Age merged with the charity Counsel and Care, and now focuses on advice, befriending and campaigning for older people. Janet is a founder partner in the Campaign to End Loneliness and she is also Vice Chair of the Baring Foundation, chairing the arts committee which currently funds arts and older people projects.

Previously, Janet was Deputy Chief Executive of the National Endowment for Science Technology (NESTA), an organisation devoted to fostering people's talent and promoting innovation. She was a senior adviser on UK Policy at the BBC from 1997 – 1999 and before that she was Director of Policy and Research at the National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO).
