Dick Sorabji

 Dick Sorabji
Dick Sorabji has been involved in public policy and management since 1981. In the 1980’s he was a Shadow Cabinet adviser, covering both health and transport portfolios. He spent five years as a councillor in Lambeth becoming leader in 1988.

Following a management degree at Imperial College he was asked to join the faculty of Imperial College Business School in 1991. During the next decade Dick taught on the MBA programme and was founding Director of the first Cabinet Office sponsored Public Service MBA programme. At Imperial his research investigated differing approaches to public service reform in the UK and around the world.

Dick returned to local government as a policy officer at LGIU (Local Government Information Unit) from 2003 to 2005. He joined NLGN (New Local Government Network) as Head of Policy in December 2005 becoming Deputy Director in December 2006. In April 2008 he joined London Councils as Corporate Director of Policy & Public Affairs
