Caitriona Duignan
Catriona is working in the Public Health Nursing Service in the Republic of Ireland since 1998. Inis-Mor, one of the Aran Islands off the West coast of Ireland, was her first work placement on qualifying as a Public Health Nurse (PHN) where she stayed for 14 months.
The second area of work was a large, wholly rural area in County Galway.
After a few years of working in a densely populated Galway City area, Catriona returned to working in a predominantly rural area, this time in Sligo. In the last few years Catriona worked in a Public Health Nurse Management role where the PHN areas under her management were all rural / coastal areas. This experience allows for a broad knowledge, experience and understanding of the highs and lows of providing a PHN service in the Rural setting, both professional and personal.
