Dr Michael Jubb

Dr Michael Jubb
Michael Jubb has more than twenty years’ experience in research policy, funding and administration, as well as scholarly communications. After a career as an academic historian, an archivist and a civil servant he was appointed Deputy Secretary of the British Academy in 1990.

From 1997 to 2005 he was Deputy Chief Executive of the Arts and Humanities Research Board, and oversaw the Board’s transition to full Research Council status in 2005. He then became the founding Director of the Research Information Network, where he was responsible for more than thirty projects and reports on key aspects of the scholarly communications landscape, ranging from researchers' use of library and information services, to analyses of the economics of scholarly communications.

Since January 2012, the RIN has operated as an independent consultancy, working with a range of organisations with a stake in the scholarly communications landscape, from research funders and universities to libraries and publishers, in the UK and overseas.
