Speaker Biography

Peter Mulligan

Peter joined UCAS in 2007 after spending two years delivering training in the Civil Contingencies Sector as an Emergency Planning Officer. He holds a Masters Degree in ‘Intelligence & Military Strategy’ and a First degree in Building Engineering.

The first three years of Peter’s time at UCAS was spent in the Policy & Public Affairs department where he provided training and consultancy on key issues that impact on progression to higher education. This included numerous keynote conference addresses to teachers, careers advisers and IAG professionals on the admissions process, and countless talks to parents and young people on the application journey. He also has delivered professional development and systems training sessions for admissions and recruitment staff working in higher education institutions across the country.

In 2010 Peter completed a secondment within UCAS working in a small project team alongside external consultants, to look at all the processes involved in both the applicant and the institutional journeys. He now works in the newly created Customer Strategy Unit as a product owner, overseeing new projects to enhance the Information Advice and Guidance (IAG) tools and services available from UCAS.
