Alison O'Brien

 Alison O'Brien
Alison is an experienced practitioner, leader and adviser with over 20 years’ experience working in the field of learning difficulties and or disabilities. She was Principal of a Grade 1 specialist residential college, has worked as an additional inspector for OFSTED, and a quality improvement adviser for LSIS. She has a specialist qualification in Autistic Spectrum Conditions and a Master’s Degree in Special Education.

Alison has been involved in a number of national developments, publications and reviews of effective practice. She has been providing quality improvement support to organisations both independently, and as an LSIS adviser since 2003, specialising in improving all aspects of teaching and learning and operational performance. She is project director for a national and cross sector LSIS sponsored project around the enhancement of learning support on behalf of Natspec. Alison is a Director of K & A Associates. Most recently she has undertaken research into the transition experiences of young people with autism for Ambitious About Autism.
