Chris Harrison

Chris Harrison, Director - Operations, Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs.
Chris joined HM Customs & Excise (HMCE) in 1974 as an Officer in Manchester. In 1982 he joined Criminal Investigation (CI) London working on commercial fraud and Class A drugs where he stayed until 1990 when he moved to the National Criminal Intelligence Service on secondment working as the Drugs Liaison Officer in Portugal. In 1995 he returned to HMCE in London as an SIO on Class A drugs investigations.

In 1999 Chris moved to Leeds as Assistant Director. Five years later he became Regional Manager Central Region, CI. During his time as Head of Region, Chris dealt with the Serious Organised Crime Agency de-merger and Inland Revenue /HMCE merger. In 2005 he became Deputy Director of East Region, CI.

Chris is currently Director Operations, CI. He is responsible for the management of all HMRC CI operations with 1,800 staff within his command.
