Pat Jones

Pat Jones has been Director of the Prisoners Education Trust since April 2008. The Trust works to extend educational opportunities and support for prisoners through a grants programme enabling prisoners to take distance learning courses in subjects and levels not otherwise available, and through other projects focussed on advocacy, peer mentoring for learners and resettlement.

She was previously Deputy Director of CAFOD, the Catholic aid agency, for seven years, and gained prison experience as an IMB member for three years. She has also worked within NCVO on charity governance development and in senior leadership roles in faith-based organisations. She began her career in youth work and worked as an adult education adviser and director in Liverpool. She has a passionate commitment to education as a means of transformation of people and of society.
