Iain Cox

Iain joined Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service directly from University and served as a Firefighter at Maidenhead and in various management roles throughout the county. During his service Iain has served as a Fire Safety Inspecting Officer, the manager of a Fire Safety Office and as the Senior Fire
Safety Officer for the Brigade. Appointed as Assistant Chief Fire Officer
in 2001 he was responsible for Support Services which includes Procurement, Premises, Information Technology and Operational and Fire Safety Policy.

On 1 April 2003 he was appointed Chief Fire Officer,thus becoming Chief of the brigade from which he has served from the start of his career – a source of great pride to him. Awarded the Fire Brigades’ Long Service and Good Conduct Medal in 2000 and the Queen’s Fire Service Medal in 2009, Iain
is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and has a MA in management. Iain is currently the Chair of the National Fire
Sprinkler Network and a Director of the Chief Fire Officers’ Association (CFOA) with the remit of prevention and protection.
