Jonathan Booth

Jonathan Booth, Director, Criminal Justice Reform, Ministry of Justice

From 1989, Jonathan worked at the Department for Education and Employment/Department for Education for ten years. He then moved to the Department for Trade and Industry/Department for Business Enterprise and Regulatory Reform (BERR). At this time he was also Assistant Director for Employment Equality until 2003.

In 2003, he became Director for Strategic Group, after which he became Senior Policy Adviser for No 10, where he was involved in the Climate and Energy G8 Negotiation.

He started at the BERR/Department for Business, Innovation and Skills as a Director, International Energy Policy, before becoming Head, Secretariat to the Hooper Review of Postal Services. Following this he became Deputy Director for Postal Services Reform, Information Economy, Business Group. He is currently Director of Confidence in the Criminal Justice System, Ministry of Justice, the position he has held since 2009.
