Cecilia Tredget, Director, Improvement East
Cecilia has worked in local government since 1982. For the first 15 years she worked mainly in housing and regeneration in London finishing this phase of her career as project Director for the Chalkhill Project in Wembley where she was responsible for the redevelopment and refurbishment of this £66m regeneration initiative.

In 1998 Cecilia moved back to the area where she had grown up as Assistant Chief Executive at East Cambridgeshire District Council and then in 2000 she became the Deputy Chief Executive leading the council’s improvement programme.

On secondment from ECDC, Cecilia then led an improvement programme in 2007 for South Cambridgeshire District Council which, under her guidance and according to the Audit Commission, “improved with promising prospects of further improvement in the future”.

Cecilia Tredget was appointed as Director of Improvement East in April 2008, which is the Regional Efficiency and Improvement Partnership (RIEP) for the East of England. The partnership supports all local authorities and Fire and Rescue Services in the region to improve performance and increase efficiencies. Since 2008, the partnership has helped authorities deliver approximately £11m of savings and is one of the leading partnerships in promoting Total Place and Leadership of Place nationally.
