Sacha Corcoran
Sacha has worked in further education for 12 years, her background including teaching Sports Science, being Head of Faculty at a large college in Hackney and now as Deputy Director for Learners, Partnerships & Innovation at City & Islington College, looking after 2500 students. Sacha also worked for Creative & Cultural Skills the sector skills council. In her role as UK Apprenticeships Manager Sacha developed the new creative Apprenticeship, the first apprenticeship framework for the creative industries, working with a range of employers to develop qualifications that were employer driven whilst championing a need to diversify the sector by offering another route into the industries.
Outside of education Sacha won Most Exceptional Working Mother in 2007, and now supports and raises awareness of the work done by Gingerbread the charity for one parent families and has appeared in many publications and on the radio discussing the needs of young parents and the role education has in supporting them.
