Chris Wensley

Chris Wensley has extensive experience as a teacher and senior manager in higher education, and was until recently Director of the Centre for Excellence in Media Practice www.cemp.ac.uk funded by the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) at Bournemouth University. Previously, he was Head of the Media Production Department at Bournemouth. He regularly leads workshops and seminars in a range of UK higher education institutions in areas such as learning objectives, the relationship between theory and practice in developing creative capabilities, and the assessment of group work. He has also presented papers on e-learning at international conferences such as Diverse, Learning on Screen, and Foundation Degrees Forward. He is a member of the conference committee of the International Society for the Scholarship of Teaching & Learning.

He is currently a freelance educational media consultant, working principally as a lead evaluator for Skillset, the Sector Skills Council for Creative Media, as it establishes its network of Screen and Media Academies to develop new talent in film and media. He is also a Director of South West Screen, a regional screen agency. His research interests include the adaptation of novels for the screen, and he regularly presents at national and international conferences.
