Dr Abdul Aziz was appointed to her current role in January 2016. Prior to this, she was the deputy permanent secretary (higher education) at Brunei’s Ministry of Education and has also served as UBD’s vice-president and dean of the Institute of Medicine. She is a clinical academic in the field of reproductive medicine and biology.
