Mahjoub Aouni has been professor of virology in the Faculty of Pharmacy at Monastir since 1978 and was vice-president of the university from 2008-14. He was appointed president in August 2014. As director of a research laboratory since 1999, he has overseen numerous projects and has more than 180 publications to his credit.
