Dr Graeme Atherton

Dr Graeme Atherton
Dr. Graeme Atherton has been active in the field of widening access to higher education (HE) since 1995 completing a doctorate at the University of Liverpool before spending five years at Liverpool Hope University as Associate Dean Widening Participation.

He then led the Aimhigher Central London Partnership before becoming Executive Director of the Aimhigher London West Central and North (WECAN) Partnership.

He is now Director of AccessHE, a new network of 30 universities delivering HE widening access activities in London.

He has also founded a new professional organisation for the widening access to HE community in the UK called NEON (National Education Opportunities Network).

Dr. Atherton is Visiting Professor in Higher Education & Social Mobility Practice at London Metropolitan University.
