Caroline Chaffer
Caroline Chaffer is a Teaching Fellow at The University of York where she is also Chair of the Mitigating Circumstances Committee for the Management School and Head of Year for the BSc (Hons) Accounting Business Finance and Management.
Caroline qualified as a Chartered Accountant with PricewaterhouseCoopers and spent 15 years working in both practice and the financial services industry before deciding on career change into accounting education in 2009.
Before taking up her current appointment at The University of York, Caroline was a Senior Lecturer in Accounting and Finance at Leeds Metropolitan University. Caroline’s research interests centre on accountants and accounting trainees; she is currently working on a collaborative project which examines where accounting trainees develop non-technical skills.
