Dr Rebecca Rosen
Rebecca is a Senior Fellow in Health Policy at the Nuffield Trust and a General Practitioner in a twenty-three thousand patient practice in South East London. Her current policy interests include integrated care, emerging roles for medical groups in the NHS and commissioning.
Within her GP practice, Rebecca has led work to improve continuity and quality of care for people with chronic complex ill health and to apply principles of the chronic care model in a practice setting.
Until April 2008 Rebecca was Medical Director of Humana Europe, a subsidiary of the US Health Benefits Organisation Humana Inc, working on the use of data integration and analysis to guide and improve commissioning. She was in charge of developing Humana's clinical strategy to integrate commissioning health services with initiatives to promote wellness, manage chronic illness and support patient involvement in decisions about health and healthcare.
Prior to joining Humana, Rebecca was Senior Fellow in Health Policy at The King's Fund. She had a particular interest in long-term conditions policy and the development of integrated services for people with complex chronic illness. While at The King’s Fund, she also worked in many other areas including primary care policy, medical professionalism and patient choice. She remains a Senior Associate of the King’s Fund.
She has worked in both NHS and academic public health departments publishing on the introduction and diffusion of new medical technologies, primary care, patient choice, and long term conditions.
