Professor Gwyn Bevan
Gwyn Bevan is at the London School of Economics and Political Science where he is Professor of Management Science in the Department of Management and an associate of LSE Health and the Centre for Analysis of Risk and Regulation (CARR). He is also a senior associate of the Nuffield Trust. He has worked at Warwick Business School, and St Thomas’ Hospital and Bristol Medical Schools; and for the National Coal Board, an economic consulting firm, HM Treasury, and as Director of the Office for Information on Health Care Performance at the Commission for Health Improvement. He is a member of the Department of Health‘s advisory groups on the formula used for resource allocation in England. His research includes comparisons of performance of schools and health services of the four UK countries; introducing purchaser competition into the English NHS; and developing methods to reallocate resources for health services in England and Italy.
