In this role he leads unionlearn’s response to apprenticeship issues and manages their ‘Apprenticeships are union business’ project.

Prior to joining the Trades Union Congress (TUC), Fred worked as a policy officer for a number of organisations including the Commission for Racial Equality, Crisis, and the Barrow Cadbury Trust.

Fred started his career working for Ford Motor Company on learning and organisational development.
