Amanda Vickers

Amanda Vickers worked in private sector Marketing for the first ten years of her career, before moving into the learning and skills world through managing a Modern Apprenticeships program and creating an innovative project for learners in the workplace to gain degree-level vocational qualifications.

She has helped to set up and train staff for over sixty social enterprises and was a founding Director of the Social Enterprise Support Centre for West Yorkshire. Amanda’s focus is supporting workers to gain the crucial skills and aptitudes they need for professionalism in their work roles. She has held management posts in the public and voluntary sectors that build the role of further education in today’s economy.

Her present role for Involve Yorkshire & Humber is to keep energy and resources coming into the voluntary sector workforce despite the sector being in ‘survival’ mode, and to promote the interests of voluntary sector learning providers.
