Nicola Ranger

Nicola Ranger was appointed as Deputy Chief Nurse / Head of Nursing for the Medicine Board at UCLH in September 2010; she joined the Trust from the South East Coast Strategic Health Authority where she was leading the strategic response to Swine Flu.

Nicola trained at the Royal London Hospital and after qualifying worked as a volunteer nurse for a year in Karachi, Pakistan.

On her return she specialised in Intensive Care Nursing and obtained her ENB 100 course from Kingston Hospital.

Nicola was recruited to work in the Cardiothoracic ICU at Mount Sinai, New York, where she worked for two years. She was then promoted to a Senior Nurse Leader for the ICU at the George Washington University Hospital, Washington D.C.

After four years in the USA Nicola returned to the UK where she has held a number of Senior Nurse posts including Unit leader for ICU, Nurse Consultant for Critical Care and Head of Nursing for both Surgery and Medicine.

Nicola also has a BSc (Hons) in Nursing and an MA in Law and Medical Ethics.
