Eugenio Caperchione

University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, Chair Comparative International Governmental Accounting Research (CIGAR network)

Eugenio Caperchione, Ph.D., is the Dean of the Faculty of Economics in Modena and Reggio Emilia University, where he teaches Public Management and Public Sector Accounting.

He currently chairs the Board of the CIGAR network (Comparative International Governmental Accounting Research), which promotes worldwide discussion and research on comparative governmental accounting.

He has been a visiting professor in the Universities of Cracow (1993), Klagenfurt (2000), Potsdam (2003), Poitiers (2007), Bethlehem (2007), Lima (2010).

His main research areas are comparative public sector accounting, management control and performance evaluation in public administrations, innovation in the public sector.

E. Caperchione has been in charge of the area “Targeting with scarce resources” for the 2007 edition of the European Public Sector Award.

He also works as an independent auditor in several public and private institutions.
