Andrew Stanley is Head of Education and Learning at the Institution of Civil Engineers, a professional membership body with 80,000 members worldwide.

Part of his role involves the accreditation of undergraduate and postgraduate civil engineering degree programmes offered at fifty eight UK universities, and working to ensure a pipeline of professionally qualified civil engineers at all levels from technician to chartered engineer.

Prior to this he worked in schools, adult education and further education for over 30 years, ending up as an interim principal via posts in quality assurance, learner services and a ten year stint as inspection nominee. He has been involved in running vocational education programmes since the early 1980s.
